Another view from my Föreställningar om Lofoten / Imagining Lofoten series, painted after my great-grandmother Trull's 1896 diary of her years on Skomvær, the lighthouse island off Røst in Lofoten.

This one is closer to the water: two small rowboats resting near the rocks, the lighthouse a quiet shape in the distance, and a single band of gold cutting through heavy grey cloud. It's the most atmospheric piece of the three, closer to how the diary describes the long, changeable Lofoten light.

This is a canvas print reproduction of my original watercolour painting, hand-stretched and ready to hang, no framing needed (or choose a solid wood oak or black frame).

Materials: Cotton canvas, archival pigment ink, solid wood frame (optional)

About the image

These are high-quality prints of original watercolour paintings. One of the unique charms of watercolour is its natural variation: subtle irregularities, uneven washes and other traces of the original painting process are part of the medium’s character.

I have deliberately chosen not to alter or digitally retouch the original paintings when preparing these prints. The prints therefore preserve the natural character and imperfections of the original watercolour. These are not defects, but part of what makes each painting unique.
